New lighting delivers energy savings and lower carbon footprint

A total of 213 lighting fixtures have been replaced at DLRT’s Leyland manufacturing facility, delivering significant savings in energy consumption and a reduction in the plant’s carbon footprint.

In addition to delivering a staggering 82% saving in building energy costs, carbon dioxide emissions will have been reduced by 1,938 tonnes over the lifetime of the equipment.

The workforce benefits too, with improved quality of lighting brought about by raising light levels and achieving a highly uniform distribution of light, along with high colour rendering.

The new lighting was installed by Intelect Lighting Ltd, who also arranged for the safe disposal of all old fixtures in line with WEEE regulations.
